Knitted fabric is the major class of fabric next to woven and non woven category of fabrics. Compared to the other two classes, the knit fabrics are much more elastic, so they were initially used in stockings and other clothing where elasticity is required. The knit fabrics can be stretched to a maximum of up to 500% depending on the material used and the knitting pattern. The two patterns often used in knitted fabrics are Lace knitting and Cable knitting. Lace Knitting is generally more flexible fabric because of the large holes which can deform in shape, whereas Cable Knitting is not as flexible as Lace Knitting since the stitches are crossed under tension, this restricts its elastic property.

Now these Knitted fabrics are used to create stylish outfits which are equally good, as the woven and non woven fabrics. These fabrics are generally warmer and more comfortable than woven fabrics, so they are suitable to make good garments. They are usually preferred in cold weather condition because they get closer to the body and keep you warm. Knitted fabrics are often made from wool which stays warm even when it is wet.
The elasticity and warmth are two opposing characteristics in knitted fabrics. So, if you need more elasticity then you have to choose the fabrics that are designed with large holes, which give less warmth and if you want more warmth then you have to select the other option. The size is not a big criterion in knitwear because it is basically an elastic material, hence you can feel it more comfortable than woven fabrics which are rigid and doesn't expand or shrink to even a small extent.
We have a good collection of Knit wears, made using different types of pattern, structures and knitting stitches. You can purchase any of these knit wears according to your requirement, in our shop.
